Nadando Contra la Corriente con Justicia Migrante: Episodio 7 - Immigration Arrests and Upcoming Events 06/01/2017

Nadando Contra la Corriente con Justicia Migrante: Episodio 6 - May Day March for Dignity 05/04/2017

Enrique Balcazar, organizador comunitario de Justicia Migrante, presentará videos de la Marcha para la Dignidad, una manifestación que se ocurrió el Primero de Mayo en Burlington. Los videos muestran trabajadores de ranchos lecheros demandando que Ben & Jerry's cumpla con su promesa de implementar el programa Leche con Dignidad en su cadena de abastecimiento y denunciando los ataques del Presidente Trump.
 
Enrique Balcazar, community organizer at Migrant Justice, will show videos from Mayday's March for Dignity, which took place in Burlington, VT. Videos show dairy workers demanding that Ben & Jerry's follow through on their commitment to join the Milk with Dignity program, followed by a protest at the U.S. Federal Building denouncing President Trump's attacks on immigrant workers.

Public March to Support Detained Migrant Worker Activists 03/18/2017

On Friday, March 17th Channel 17/Town Meeting TV community producer Enrique “Kike” Balcazar, producer of Nadando Contra la Corriente con Justicia Migrante, the popular Spanish language program for Vermont migrant farm workers, was one of three people detained and arrested by U.S. Immigration and Custom's Enforcement (ICE) officials last week. Enrique’s arrested colleagues include Zully Palacios and Alex Carrillo.

Enrique Balcazar is a remarkable champion of free speech and an inspiring advocate for Vermont migrant farm workers. Channel 17/Town Meeting TV recently nominated Enrique for a national Hometown Media Award with the Alliance for Community Media for his important work as producer and host of Nadando Contra la Corriente con Justicia Migrante.

In less than 12 hours notice, hundreds of people turned out to show their support for Kike, Zully, and Alex.
