Building on the first meeting (8/5/15) and second meeting (9/15/15) the City Attorney revised the existing ordinance to reflect the discussion and also prepared an alternative ordinance that also addresses the concerns of the stakeholders. Discussion of these drafts takes place at this third and final public meeting, after which the Administration will consolidate input and present a final document to the Ordinance Committee for consideration.
As public transportation industries are adapting to new technology and operations and demands have grown on the City's current licensing system, including the recent development of an Interim Operating Agreement with Uber to allow it to operated legally within the City of Burlington and the Airport, the City is reviewing its Vehicle for Hire Ordinance.
