El verano casi termina, pero no terminan las acciones en campaña leche con dignidad y los festejos que habrá este año. Primero, vamos a estar desfilando el Domingo 18 de Septiembre junto con PRIDE “Centro de orgullo” por la solidaridad que han declarado al rechazar patrocinio de Hannford hasta que el supermercado acceda a hablar con los trabajadores lecheros. Después vamos a celebrar el 5to aniversario del programa LcD con una buena fiesta y buenxs cantantes el 24 de Septiembre; todo esto mientras seguimos tomando acciones importantes para llamar a Hannaford a sentarse para firmar el programa leche con dignidad. Kike Balcazar.

Summer is almost over, but the actions in the Milk with Dignity campaign and the celebrations that will take place this year are not over. First, we will be parading on Sunday September 18 along with PRIDE "Center of Pride" for the solidarity they have declared in rejecting sponsorship from Hannford until the supermarket agrees to speak with the dairy workers. Then we are going to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the LcD program with a good party and good singers on September 24 ; all this while we continue to take important actions to call Hannaford to sit down and sign the milk with dignity program.

Amtrak Arrival in Burlington 07/29/2022

From Amtrak:

Amtrak, in conjunction with the Vermont Agency of Transportation (AOT), is now selling Ethan Allen Express tickets for daily travel between Burlington and New York City, including new stops in Vergennes and Middlebury. Service kicks off at 10:10 a.m. Friday, July 29, 2022, with a celebratory event at Burlington’s Union Station. In addition to Burlington, the new stops will also include the beautifully restored historic Ferrisburgh-Vergennes Station, which includes ample parking for Amtrak passengers, and the Middlebury Station, which consists of an impressive covered platform across the tracks from the historic Middlebury Station. The extended service will depart Burlington daily at 10:10 a.m. and arrive in Moynihan Train Hall at New York Penn Station (NYP) in New York City at 5:45 p.m. Northbound, the Ethan Allen Express will depart NYP at 2:21 p.m. daily with arrival in Burlington at 9:55 p.m.

Migrant Farmworkers' Regional Soccer Tournament 2022 07/16/2022

Migrant Justice and a series of local sponsors host the final match in a regional soccer tournament played by teams of migrant farmworkers from around New England. The event is held at Tree Farm Soccer Complex in Essex Junction, VT.

Viaje a Maine: La comunidad se va a Maine! Banda, es hora de llegar hasta la casa de Hannafords y presionar hasta que firme LCD. Salimos el día 28 y salir temprano de Burlington, pasaremos a Montpellier y en White River Junction, avisa si vas para apartar asiento en el bus. Invitamos a toda la comunidad lechera de Vermont a apartar su día, apartar los planes y asistir este evento, nuestra participación hace la diferencia.

Torneo de futbol: Estaremos hablando del torneo, la importancia de celebrar los triunfos que tenemos como comunidad. Para este show, estaremos sorteando los equipos y dejando todo claro con la tabla.

Nadando Contra la Corriente con Justicia Migrante: Torneo, Peticiones de Discreción Procesal y Más 06/16/2022

Desde hace unos meses un grupo de 10 compañerxs de la comunidad comenzaron a organizarse para meter peticiones de discreción procesal, lo cual quiere decir que ICE cierre sus casos de deportación siguiendo e implementando las protecciones ganadas en el nuevo memorándum de prioridades de deportación. Este Martes los compañerxs harán una conferencia de prensa frente a la corte donde se podrán presentar las peticiones.

Hoy también, hablaremos todo sobre el torneo de fútbol y la bonita acción del 12 de Junio contra Hannaford en la campaña Leche con Dignidad.

Summer Video Production Internship - Applications Open

Town Meeting TV is hiring two paid interns to join our production team for the summer! The program will run from Monday, June 24th until Friday, August 16th (8 weeks). $17 an hour, approximately 8 hours per week. We are looking for folks who have basic or intermediate experience with video recording and editing on Adobe Premiere. Interns will work with the Town Meeting TV Co-Directors to pick stories or events that they would like to cover in our community, practice outreach skills, then shoot and edit video that will be broadcasted on Town Meeting TV's YouTube and cable channels.
