Description
Community producer James Gero's video.
While traditional conventions of painting prioritize image and content, Dan Tranberg’s work inverts this dynamic by championing the materials used in the paintings’ composition. Through the incorporation of materials like yarn, glitter, and Roll-a-Tex, Tranberg’s work creates an overtly tactile experience that emphasizes materiality above all else. This manipulation of formal systems results in dynamic, gem-like paintings that are ideal for contemplation. For more info, visit BCA.
