Description

Community producer James Gero's video. Dissonance/Resonance - Mia Feuer May 7, 2010 - June 26, 2010

2009 Burlington City Arts, Seven Below resident, Mia Feuer’s installations reflect a culture transfixed by violent destruction and convey a sense of the fragility of objects considered the most solid and secure. In her most recent work, the cobalt-blue structure of Collapse (2009) cantilevers off a wall six feet off the floor. Evoking the debris of a collapsed bridge, with rivet head studded beams and the cross-bracing Feuer is inspired by the 2007 Mississippi bridge collapse, wreckage of the World Trade Center and her first hand experiences both in Israel and the West Bank during recent conflicts.
