The Tenth Vermont Blueprint for Health Annual Conference provided an overview of Health Reform spanning the local, state and national levels. This year’s speakers included Ed Wagner, MD, MPH, Director Emeritus at the MacColl Center for Health Care Innovation Group Health Research Institute, Michael Botticelli, MEd, Deputy Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy and Kevin Larsen, MD, FACP, Medical Director of Meaningful Use at the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology. Part One includes opening remarks from Dean Frederick Morin III, MD and Anya Rader Wallack, PhD in addition to a presentation by Kevin Larsen, MD, FACP. Part Three features a presentation on Health System Innovations Across the United States by Edward Wagner, MD, MPH and a Panel Discussion about Vermont's Community Health Teams and Primary Care moderated by Lisa Dulsky Watkins, MD and featuring panelists Pam Farnham, RN, Theresa Fortner, RN, Pamela Pare, PA, Jill Rinehart, MD, FAAP, Kerry Sullivan, LICSW, Kristy Trask, BS, RN, CLC and Edward Wagner, MD, MPH, FACP. After participating in the conference, participants should be able to: Describe the experiences of Health Reform programs implemented in Vermont and nationwide in recent years (specifically those working with the Patient Centered Medical Home model). Discuss emerging efforts regarding national standards for Health Information Technology. Describe the current activities moving toward integration of Mental Health and Addictions Treatment with Primary Care.
