Come learn about the history of television, with a critical eye to its impacts on human social structures and behaviors. We will also talk about how television may have been the precursor to social media in more ways than we care to realize.

Five words that describe Lydia Diamond: Thank God Almighty for Life

I am a Black grown up now at 62. I survive being a black gurl EVERYDAY ALLDAY. I am a single black grandma of 7. I am a single black mother of 4. I was born in 1963 w/o civil or human rights in Bklyn NY. My parents were young, black and poor survivors. I come from black parents, grandparents and great grandparents on both sides. My mother relocated w/my 4 kids to Vt 30 years ago.

I am known as Brooklynstrong the advocate and blackgurlmattersvt. I am proud to be a BGM leader known to represent the poor and most vulnerable communities. I was groomed to Lead w/ Love first by the Bklyn Village of family that raised me 1st.

Bring the entire family for a free hour-long program featuring great opera music and uplifting messages about mental health! We are pleased to return to the beautiful Elley-Long Music Center for an evening that highlights Bizet’s Carmen Suites (you will recognize this music immediately, trust us!) as well as music by Smyth and Ponchielli. The 50 members of the Me2 Orchestra is led by Music Director & Conductor Michael Colburn.

This concert is free with donations accepted. We hope to see you there!
