Eli Harrington, Director, International Visitor Programs, Vermont Council on World Affairs, speaks with Qubad Talabani, Special Representative of the Republic of Kurdistan to the United States. The Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq is represented in the U.S. by a diplomatic representative independent of the Embassy of Iraq. In this role, Mr. Qubad Talabani has worked to promote greater understanding of the Kurdish people, and the political realities in Iraqi Kurdistan, Iraq, and the region.

The Town of Colchester Select Board meets at 7:30 pm on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at the Colchester Meeting House (formerly the white church) on Main Street in the village. However, sometimes special meetings, locations and times are arranged. Established in 1986, Burlington Dismas House has a proven track record: approximately 75% of the residents who meet the commitment to live at Dismas for at least three months make successful transitions to productive lives in the community. The Burlington Dismas House 26th Annual Dinner & Auction features Keynote Speaker Susan Cooke Kittredge, Vermont minister and VPR commentator. She will be joined by special Guest Speaker Governor Peter Shumlin. MC, Thomas J. Donovan, State's Atorney of Chittenden County will introduce a Dismas House resident to speak as well as the Governor. Judge Geoffery Crawford, presents the Dismas Jack Hickey Award to Bob Wolford of the Howard Center.
