Eli Harrington, Director, International Visitor Programs, Vermont Council on World Affairs, speaks with Qubad Talabani, Special Representative of the Republic of Kurdistan to the United States. The Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq is represented in the U.S. by a diplomatic representative independent of the Embassy of Iraq. In this role, Mr. Qubad Talabani has worked to promote greater understanding of the Kurdish people, and the political realities in Iraqi Kurdistan, Iraq, and the region.
