Five words that describe Peter Mallary: curious, liberal — in the small L sense — open-minded, Vermonter/homebody, collector, and musician.
Peter Mallary — now retired — most recently served as Vice-President in charge of Government Relations and Community Outreach for the Vermont Association for Mental Health and Addiction Recovery. He is a former Member of the Vermont House of Representatives, serving as Majority Whip. He worked for Governor Peter Shumlin on special projects related to addiction and treatment.
He served on Governor Phil Scott’s Opioid Coordination Council. Mallary has also has had a long career as a publisher, writer and a journalist. He has served
on numerous boards and committees. These include serving as President of The Vermont Historical Society, President of the Vermont Community Loan Fund,
Chair of the Snelling Center for Government, Chair of the Capitol Complex Commission, Chair of the Vermont Advisory Council for Historic Preservation,
President of the Second Wind Foundation and President of the Vermont Alliance for Recovery Residences. He has also served on the boards of the Vermont
Association for Mental Health and Addiction Recovery, Marlboro College, Capstone, Friends of the State House, The Fairbanks Museum and Vermont PBS. Mallary lives in Bradford, Vermont.
