The Burlington 2030 District Launch 05/04/2018

The Burlington 2030 District, a private/public partnership that supports ongoing local efforts to mitigate climate change, officially launched this week at Union Station in Burlington. The Burlington District is working to reduce building energy consumption, water use and transportation emissions 50% by 2030. By establishing the economic case for these reductions, Burlington 2030 District helps property owners reduce operating costs, increase asset value and create a healthier community.

Leading Burlington businesses and institutions have committed over six million square feet to participate in the Burlington 2030 District, which is about 15% of the City's total square footage. Some of the first property owners and managers to participate in the program include CityPlace Burlington, Champlain College, Burlington School District, University of Vermont Medical Center, Farrell Properties, Nick and Morrissey Development, and Main Street Landing.
