City Hall Internship Program

Title: Videographer for the Neighborhood Planning Assemblies

Supervisor: Phet Keomanyvanh, CEDO

Internship Location: Throughout public meeting locations in Burlington

Description:

The Community and Economic Development Office (CEDO) in conjunction with Channel 17/Town Meeting TV is currently seeking a member of our community with an interest in learning more about video-taping, video editing, video publishing, community service, and local current affairs. Your contribution as a videographer will bolster community engagement efforts in Burlington. Our ideal videographer would possess the ability to attend Neighborhood Planning Assemblies around the Burlington-area and would be willing to learn how to properly film and edit the footage for public consumption online. Candidates for this internship must be strong, self-motivated individuals who can perform independently.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend a training on how to videotape and edit video
  • Videotape Neighborhood Planning Assemblies - up to 5x per month.
  • Coordinating equipment pick-up and drop-off at Channel 17/Town Meeting TV.
  • An option to assist in filming/producing CEDO’s Live at 5:25 monthly broadcast

Requirements (professional/skill requirements and time requirements):

  • A personal or academic interest in the media production.
  • Independent ability to organize and coordinate, and maintain own schedule.
  • Access to a vehicle or reliable transportation
  • Willingness and ability to dedicate up to 10 hours per month, evenings.
