Bright Street Housing Co-op Ground Breaking 08/27/2015

The ground breaking of the Bright Street Housing Cooperative, a project of Champlain Housing Trust and Housing Vermont, will create 40 new 'affordable' homes in Burlington's Old North End. South Burlington Chamberlin Neighborhood Project - Shaping Your Community's Future 05/27/2015

A community meeting, sharing hopes and dreams for the South Burlington Chamberlin Neighborhood.

This meeting is part of the Chamberlin Neighborhood Planning Project which engages residents, airport representatives, City officials, and regional stakeholders in a conversation about land use and transportation in the neighborhood. The Planning Project will develop a vision for the neighborhood and strategies for achieving that vision. The outcomes of the study will be documented in a Transportation-Land Use Plan that will be submitted to the South Burlington City Council, and will both serve as the base for next steps in land use and transportation planning in the area; these will also help to inform the Airport’s own planning efforts. A key part of this project is also about establishing communication among all parties, and the study is as much about process as it is about the outcome.

Housing Summit -- Creative Communities: North, South, Central, Downtown and Waterfront

Before Council signs off on the mayor's Housing Action Plan (HAP), Neighborhood Planning Assemblies share with City Council the many creative approaches to expanding housing communities in the city.

Neighborhood Planning Assemblies (NPAs) are grassroots, neighborhood organizations that were established in each of Burlington's seven Wards to encourage citizen participation in City government. Working as neighborhood advocacy groups, Neighborhood Planning Assemblies help improve communication between the citizens of Burlington and City government.

The Neighborhood is scheduled to hold a meeting on May 27th, 6:30pm at the Chamberlin School, to continue efforts at addressing neighborhood issues.
