Community Mindfulness: Open Window Thinking 04/28/2025

This week we practice letting thinking come and go as if through an open window. There;s no resistance to it, nothing to react to. Just allow it to be. In this way, there can be a softening to thinking, letting go, and developing a deep sensitivity to how we think about things. Hosted by Andrea Marion, volunteer leader.

Is there a pressure there, a habit of tightness, associated with thinking?

We can practice relaxing around what we think.

Community Mindfulness: Clarity of Mind - Inner Clarity 04/21/2025

This week's mindfulness practice is about inner clarity, which comes when discursive thinking is reduced to a bare minimum. Discursive thinking is categorized as worry, fear, anxiety; fantasy; reviewing, planning, revising; or memories. These types of thought have their place, but not they are going over and over in our heads and taking up space. We can practice setting them aside and opening to clarity. Inner clarity is like clear skies- it can’t be grasped but we can enjoy it, settle into the here and now. And rest. Hosted by Andrea Marion, volunteer leader.

This week’s practice is about the lightness of awareness. Led by Andrea Marion, volunteer mindfulness leader.

We can know what's happening without reactivity, tension, or an automatic call to action. We can give room to all things, allowing each person and event the space to be who they are/what they are.

In that way, our response to the world comes from a deeper place, where loving kindness can arise with the same lightness as the lightness of awareness.

Community Mindfulness: What Is My Mind Interested In? 03/31/2025

What if the mind is no longer interested in fear, anger, bias, judgment, or opinion??!!??

What if the thinking could be trained to focus on this moment, breathing in breathing out, and arising well-being that this simplicity brings?

What if well-being was our number one priority and we could carry it with us through our day like a cozy blanket? Well-being, and even subtle happiness, could accompany any task, responsibility or challenge.

In this 20-minute guided mindfulness practice, we focus on segment of our lives, represented by the breathing as wave. At the same time, here’s a big ocean of awareness that we can rest in abd find comfort with. Settling into this ocean can bring feel joy and happiness. Even as the waves are rolling along.
