Homeless in Burlington - The Case of Sears Lane - 04/20/2022

Burlington has often been called one of the most liveable cities in the United States. Yet, even in a cold Vermont winter, unhoused people are without shelter and support from their city. This winter City authorities made the situation worse for those unhoused people who had formed a community in Sears Lane. In a surprise move, the City bulldozed this encampment summarily and sent the residents to the streets. In this questionable process the City destroyed the belongings of the residents, some of it priceless, like photographs, tents, and art work.

Chittenden Senate Redistricting Discussion - 04/20/2022

In this discussion, Chittenden County Senators host a discussion on the redrawn lines for Chittenden Senate districts.

• The central Chittenden district will have three senators representing the north part of Burlington, Winooski, the southern part of Colchester and Essex Junction.

• The southeast Chittenden district will have three senators representing Burlington's 6-5 House district, South Burlington, Shelburne, Charlotte, Hinesburg, Bolton, Richmond, St. George, Williston, Jericho and Underhill.

• The north Chittenden district will be served by one Senator and include the towns of Milton, Westford and Essex Town, as well as the Franklin County town of Fairfax.
