Description
More than $47,000 in cash grants and city funds plus an estimated equal value of volunteer labor, invested in organizing, demolition, construction, landscaping and signage has converted the old city dump entrance on Manhattan Drive into an attractive neighborhood centerpiece. With the installation this week of a "You Are Here" sign kiosk, the Mayor and the Parks and Recreation Department Director will recognize the work of city employees and the fulfilled ambitions of dedicated neighborhood volunteers who have spent years organizing and laboring to make this happen. Organizations that have taken active roles include the City Council, the Burlington Walk/Bike Council, Local Motion, AARP, and the Burlington Bicycle Coalition.
