Description
Burlington, Vermont's Planning Director, Mark Eldridge, discusses Vermont legislation under discussion to address growth in the state. Ultimately passed as Act 200, the land management bill grew out of the work of the Costel Commission under Governor Madeleine Kunin. Mark Eldridge talks about the value of such legislation for regions and localities to have review criteria to assess growth and, in conclusion, identifies the current issues of concern in and around Chittenden County and Burlington, including the need for affordable housing.
