"Host, Ed Baker, and his distinguished guest, Dr. Richard Rawson, discuss the overwhelming tsunami of drug overdose fatality in America and Vermont. The tragic facts in Vermont are focused on closely, as well as Vermont’s responses in terms of policy and interventions over the course of the epidemic. Special focus is placed on the life saving potential of Overdose Prevention Sites and the need to immediately implement these in Vermont.

Dr. Rawson has conducted an extensive portfolio of research on methamphetamine, including projects on behavioral and medication treatments. Dr. Rawson was a member of the Federal Methamphetamine Advisory Group for Attorney General Janet Reno, and during the past decade, he has worked with NIDA, SAMHSA, the US State Department, the World Health Organization and the United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime on international substance abuse research and training projects, exporting US technology and addiction science throughout the world. He has published 3 books, 40 book chapters and over 240 professional papers and annually conducts numerous workshops, paper presentations and training sessions."
