Description

From the organizers:

Trump has declared open season on immigrants, LQBTQ+ folks, activists, and workers. The scale and breadth of his administration's attacks have left many people feeling overwhelmed and unsure of how to fight back. But resistance is possible, and is starting to grow everywhere.

Organized workers are uniquely positioned to push back against these attacks. We have the power to bring the system to a halt through collective action. Join us as we hear from a variety of local union activists and discuss strategies for building a fighting resistance.

Speakers:

  • Ayana Curran-Howes, Graduate Students United, GSU Palestine Solidarity Caucus
  • Heather Bauman, UVMMC Support Staff United, AFT Local 5223, Vice President for Healthcare, AFT Vermont, Vermont State Labor Council
  • Helen Scott, United Academics, AFT Vermont, Vermont Tempest Collective
  • Matt Gile, Winooski School District Librarian, Winooski Education Association Executive Council, Green Mountain DSA Labor Solidarity Captain
