Description

From Burlington City Arts (BCA):

Join us on Saturday, April 5th, 2025, as we commemorate one year since Burlington’s Total Solar Eclipse with an evening of art, video, live music, storytelling, and community reflection in Contois Auditorium at City Hall. This free event invites the public to celebrate and reflect on the magic of that shared, transformative day.

Explore videos, paintings, and photographs contributed by local residents, all inspired by the 2024 eclipse. The installation remains on view in City Hall Lobby through April 17 during normal operating hours. Kid-Friendly Eclipse Display Families will enjoy a hands-on eclipse installation with live projections by Alex Reeves (Vanish Works).

Doors open for the one‐night‐only presentation of VIGNETTES OF VEILED LIGHT, created by local filmmakers Alexandra Rose Morrow and Myles David Jewell, who documented 15 days of build‐up to and including the 2024 Total Solar Eclipse in Burlington. Together with over 10 collaborators—filmmakers, students, and community groups—they have compiled short vignettes that capture the excitement and wonder surrounding the eclipse.

These video vignettes will be presented with: Live Music by Tom Pearo, Bob Wagner, Josh Weinstein, and other talented artists.

Community Storytelling featuring voices such as Kerubo, Mae Nagusky, and Kenroy Walker.

Audience Interaction through call‐and‐response, harmonized singing, and interactive projections. VIGNETTES OF VEILED LIGHT is a love letter to Burlington, celebrating how light and shadow shape our understanding of the world—and how a single natural phenomenon brought thousands of people together. During the 2024 eclipse, nearly twenty cameras were distributed citywide
