Burlington Ward 2 and Ward 3 NPA Meeting 05/12/2016

Neighborhood Planning Assemblies (NPAs) are grassroots, neighborhood organizations that were established in each of Burlington's seven Wards to empower citizen participation in City government. Working as neighborhood advocacy groups, Neighborhood Planning Assemblies facilitate communication between the citizens of Burlington and city government through regular meetings scheduled in each Ward. Wards 2 & 3 meet the second Thursday of the month.

Congressman Peter Welch: Congressman Peter Welch Speaks on the Opiate Crisis in the U.S. 05/10/2016

Rep. Welch holds a press conference to highlight a package of legislation scheduled for a vote on the House floor this week. The legislation addresses the opioid epidemic by expanding treatment and data sharing. Welch is joined by Mayor Miro Weinberger, Vermont Department of Health Commissioner Harry Chen, Chittenden County State’s Attorney T.J. Donovan, as well as other health care and criminal justice leaders.

FOCUS: Rising Tide: Fracked Gas Pipeline in Vermont 04/29/2016

Host Margaret Harrington discusses the Vermont fracked gas pipeline situation with special guest Alex Prolman from Rising Tide Vermont. For the second time in less than a month, on Monday, April 18th, opponents of Vermont Gas Systems’ fracked gas pipeline have taken to the trees to prevent pipeline construction in Addison County.

CCTV Center for Media & Democracy is pleased to announce receipt of a National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Humanities Collections and Reference Resources grant alongside 32 peer archival institutions across the country.
