U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy, University of Vermont President Daniel Fogel, representatives of Vermont’s EPSCoR program, and representatives of TelJet Longhaul announce a multi-million dollar federal investment in fiber optic technology increasing interstate research opportunities for universities in Vermont,  New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island and Delaware.  The new infrastructure will enable a multi-state research and development project to get underway studying complex and detailed information about northeastern lakes, including Lake Champlain.
