Description
In today's episode, Zach Rhoads interviews Dr. Rick Barnett about psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy -- and the potential future of this practice in the state of Vermont. Rick has been accepted to the Class of 2020 at the California Institute for Integral Studies in their Certificate in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies and Research. Psilocybin (psychedelic mushrooms) are on a fast track for FDA approval for a potential variety of mental health and addictive disorders. MDMA (ecstasy) is also being actively considered for approval for PTSD, and Ketamine has recently been approved for chronic depression.
Rick hopes that, soon enough, he will be able to use his knowledge and credentials to help Vermont patients through this mode of therapy.
