Description
Annette Smith, executive director of Vermonters for a Clean Environment, talks with host Margaret Harrington about why she continues to work on behalf of Vermonters who feel powerless in the face of state bureaucracies and big business. She discusses the Iberdrola Wind Project in the Vermont National Forest which has decimated the bear habitat. She talks about groundwater protection, forest fragmentation and wildlife habitat protection which is overlooked by the industrial, global, wind turbine industry. Annette Smith won the award as Vermonter of the Year 2016 from the Burlington Free Press editorial board because of her persistent efforts as a citizen advocate.
