In March, 2013, Williston voters approved a $5.9 million dollar bond issue to build a new garage, maintenance facility and office space for a total of approximately 30,550 square feet in size and to build a new salt shed approximately 7,500 square feet in size. This new facility will replace the existing facility located in a different part of town. The existing facility is significantly smaller and no longer meets the needs of the community. Using a competitive process, the firm, Neagley and Chase was selected to design and construct the new facility based on a set of outline specifications prepared by Dore and Whittier. In addition, the town has selected the firm, LP Construction Consulting to provide project management services for the town. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of December 2014.
According to Rick McGuire, Town Manager, the contract with Neagley and Chase amounts to
$3,910,000.
