A Special City Election for Ward 5 School Commissioner. Patrick Halladay, the only announced candidate, looks to complete Amy Werbel's Commission term ending April 2, 2012.
Live on TV and Online - June 25 at 6 p.m. Meet Patrick Halliday, the only announced candidate running to finish the Ward 5 term vacated by Amy Werbel on the Burlingon School Board. Werbel is leaving the seat to attend a scholars program in China. The candidate elected to this seat will hold office until April 2, 2012. Dr. Diane E. Meier is Director of the Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC), a national organization devoted to increasing the number and quality of palliative care programs in the United States. Her leadership of CAPC has led to the doubling of U.S. hospital palliative care programs in the last five years. She is also Director of the Lilian and Benjamin Hertzberg Palliative Care Institute; Professor of Geriatrics and Internal Medicine in the Brookdale Department of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine; and Catherine Gaisman Professor of Medical Ethics in the Department of Medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City.
